A friend of mine set up a site a few months ago, and did nothing at all for SE.

Now his site has a Google PR6, and he has not even used keywords, descriptions, thought about keyword density (hell ... he doesn't have any! There appear to be few, if any, links to him either.

Check out the site at http://www.actifvacations.com

How does this happen?

How does this happen?

This is your answer:

His link is the only external link on a PR7 page. Case closed.

Edited to add:

I noticed that this page's PR is fluctuating between PR6 and PR7 (the Google update isn't over yet).

Huh. So there you go huh ... the power of a single link on a high PR page perfectly illustrated then.

Thanks dude,

No problem. This is actually quite common on the web, and it's why writing articles and submitting them to high ranking websites can be a great way to boost PR.

Typically, when an article is published, the author's link will be the only external link on the page (so he gets the benefit of all of the PR being passed).
