Hi there!

I'm seeing google come by my site, but aren't seeing results when I search. I always assumed that when a spider indexed my site the results would be near instant. Is this correct or does it take a couple of days/weeks to show up?

I have too... Hope everyone has fully discounted "quarterly updated greenbar PR" and has gone to monitoring 2 and 3 word keyphrase SERPS, by now! There is just no "Real" progress mensuration left there.

Daily SERPs is as close as you come to "Real Time" mensuration now, outside of "forethought", that is.

I have actually seen results the very next day!

Yeh me too, nearly at 2 days later.

The only thing I did was link to the site from a site that gets reindex/cached by google each day.

I have had 4 sites crawled and show up 2 days later. One that hasn't at all and one that was indexed and I thought the job was done and then removed the link. Now there is no information!!

We see most pages, even deep links, show up the next day. Changes are 2 - 3 days at times, but usually next day as well.

Perhaps what you're experiencing is searching for keywords that you're just not showing up for, or maybe you're excluded from the results for some other reason.

I have seen a few sites excluded from SERPs because of domain names that could (they weren't) be adult content. Maybe you just need to turn the filter off and try again. Your domain is in that questionable range.

Or, tell us what you're searching for and maybe we can take a look at the site.

I think it depends on the spider, some results will show up in a couple of days while others take longer.

Other spiders don't really play into a Google question.
It does make me want to ask though... Did anyone come out of the "sandbox" when Google played their hand?

Hi Brian.Mark

What I'm searching for is the reason I'm not seeing all of my individual product pages showing up in Google. It gets to a page which lists all the products with links to their individual pages (which I checked manually), but those products never seem to show in the searches.

I'm checking by the site:mydomain.com method and the other pages seem to be showing up (including some very old ones). I'm just wondering if the new ones aren't showing just because it hasn't been long enough or if there's (still) a problem with the code...

Brian.Mark,

Do you really expect anyone to be able to help you here with your source code view blocked?

Hi Greeneagle,

Not sure if you meant that post to me or to Brian.Mark, if it was to me then I need to appologize for being a newbie and not actually knowing what you mean by source code blocking. It sounds fairly self explanatory, but I know that I have no clue how to block source code (other than by a piece of javascript which I haven't done personally). Do you mean that my .htaccess settings don't allow for viewing -- or am I completely off track here?

Thanks!

silentz,

I just tried to check your source code again, and I can't get to it. Are you JS'ing a blockage?

I didn't knew that I can hide or block the source code... is it a good thing to do or it's going to effect my site? I want to avoid other sites from copying me but is there a safe way?

You can't really stop your source code from being copied since it needs to be downloaded to the browser to be seen, you can just make it a little harder to view than normal. This tends to be annoying for normal people viewing the site and doesnt actually stop anyone that wants to copy it from doing so.

Greeneagle, if you mean the site in silentz' signature, I can view source just fine.

And there are some errors in there, by the way:

I know this may sound a bit off-colour, and is definitely not an answer to your questions, Silentz, but i couldn't help but notice your web site's name and giggle:

I'm sure you must get a certain amount of traffic from people looking for a very different type of "raw pleasure".

Don't mind me... just one of those days!
