I have been ranked for small business web design keyword and similar keywords realted to small business web design but i could not find visitors from my stat counter.
How can that happen the term small business web design is been searched 5000 times a months according to overture suggestion tool.
can any one tell me about this

Hello Spring Break, Happy to see you here.
Getting new jobs off serps seems rather difficult to say the least. Most all of the referrals we receive come from one of the four areas listed below.
1. The link at the bottom of sites we already built,
2. Direct snail mail, Has been Very Effective.
3. Emailing the owners directly with special offers,
4. or the best yet, word of mouth. Good reason to keep existing clients happy.
We get some requests for quotes from the serps but most seem to be looking not buying. We also specialize in two areas and only deal within Alaska. All requests for work outside the state we refer to local webmasters in there area.
As winter sets in you should get more traffic and hopefully that will return requests for new jobs, at least that has been our experience. Don't hesitate to contact businesses about upgrading their existing sites as well. There are so many sites in need of updating. There is nothing worse than a site with three year old prices and non current information on them. This never seems to be addressed by the webmasters or site owners. One site we just picked up had summer specials listed for 1999. Ouch. Look for these thing and go after them. Pick up a phone and call them for an appointment. We get most every job we go after this way.
