Hi all,

I check both Google and Y! throughout the day to see where we are in SERPs. We had a nice jump in Google (went from #6 to #3 ) for the term 'part time jobs' yet Y! seems to bouncing us around for the same search term.

I know that we have a great site that's full of relevant content and we've never done anything spammy, yet I see sites ranking higher consistently in Y! for the term 'part time jobs'.

Can anyone tell us what we're doing wrong?

Thanks,

Dave

your site is fine and I wouldn't recommend any changes. You might consider increasing the number of back links to help with yahoo. Check you cached version on Yahoo as Inktomi reverted to older caches on Monday and this could be the reason for the drop back down.

DPAGuy,

I checked the backlinks in Y! and it shows that we have 2,250 but I'll definitely spend more time on backlinking. Whatever it takes!

Thanks for the help.

Dave

My site pops around Yahoo for my main keyword. It will go from position #45 to #3 to #10 to #3 ect...

It moves the exact same way on MSN too. Whatever Yahoo has it listed at, MSN has it exactly the same. MSN or Yahoo is using each others rankings for this keyword.

On Google its always #1.
