Just found this site. Looks like a great resource. I've been working on getting the site www.locate-contractor.com higher in the engines, although somehwat unsuccessful. When someone searches for a contractor to fix say a broken hot water heater, I want the page hot-water-heater.html to come up, although my index seems to be the only page that shows up. Can I submit my sitemap anywhere to help get the other pages indexed?
Thanks
Ryan

Hello Ryan. You need to optimize that page independently from the index page and get some high-quality external links pointing to it.
Use a couple of your most important keywords in the link anchor text of those links. Keep your page title short with a those same keywords in it.
Use those keywords a few times each in a couple of paragraphs near the top of the page.
And the most important part, did I mention getting inbound links with keyword rich anchor text?
In a nutshell, you have to treat each page as if it stands on its own SEO wise, because it does. Each page has it's own Google PageRank and position in the SERPS for a given keyword/phrase.
Start by submitting your site to The Open Directory Project (DMOZ) at http://www.dmoz.org.
Then initiate some link exchanges with related sites. There are tons of threads on this forum that give details about how to go about this.
In a couple of months you can be ranking well for that page.

Hi,
I think you should optimize this page individual and if you have PR (Page Rank) of 5 and Internal Linking will be good then you can do a better rank, i think you can make rank in Top 10.
Keep eyes on Title,Content and Link analysis, u dont need to do more then it...........
I hope it will help you........
