Have you checked out the Yahoo!Next?

http://next.yahoo.com/

Think Yahoo is taking personalization to the Next level. With its strong user base, I am sure it will beat other search engines with its personalized search options.

What do you think?

Good fine, I especially like the Save - Save with Note - Share - Block Site features that are listed.

I'm not sure if the public will embrace the personalization, though.

sudhani: thanks for the post. I had not seen 'next'. I like it a lot. I thought the user interface was straight-forward, clear, and quite clean. One or two clicks let me do each task.

For now, I think only power users will have an appreciation (agreeing with bhartzer) but with the right marketing, YH! can pull the public along.

I am very interested in knowing whether an AI system will monitor actions like saving, blocking, and catgorizing and then ultimately 'learn' more about what is generally considered relevant. If so, SERPs could be influenced (in part) by these human behaviors.

Yes definitely. This is where the personalization gets better. Your personal searches will definitely be influenced by your search hisrtoy.

For the general SERPs, this becomes a definite learning point to make them better.
