View Full Version : Need Advice on Advertising - Internet.com
Hi,
I have $5k per month fund for advertising and have been using it so far for advertising in magazine ads. Newspapers....hard copy advertising. I want to try and maximize the traffic (hits) to my website and thought I might have a better ROI if I used paid links/impressions on very high PR sites and thus ensure more traffic and a higher ranking for my pages.
I was contacted by jupitermedia & are connected to internet.com (I think). Anyway they can give me 18,000 links for the $5K I'm using on magazines. I want to buy links to improve the listings of my search engine search terms and thought this might be a better place to spend my money? Has anyone had experience with jupitermedia.com and share your experience with me?
Thank you!

Myself personally wouldn't put all my faith in one company. If you've got 5K to throw around I would do exactly that throw it around and see who gets you the best results.
Try different media's, online and offline. Being creative with your advertising dollars gets results. Contact an advertising firm and see what they can offer you. Contact an art college and offer some money for the best creative advertising campaign a class can come up with....you'd be amazed! Not to mention you could recieve great publicity for working with a school and helping to promote a higher education. Depends how you work it, publicity is free! Could be better than paid advertising.
Be creative.
Good luck

PPC is it...
$5,000/month is more than most of our clients' budgets. Local, regional, national targeting. Extremely effective when done properly.
Here's some evidence....third party verification....

Internet.com is a very smart move for natural search. Internet.com does not sell links for natural search engine results. They have been selling text and banner link advertising for well over 5 years.
Those links will however contribute dramatically to your natural search rankings. This is a long term strategy. PPC is best for short term. Long term this is a GREAT investment. Send me your contact info and I will give you some other ideas.

One thing you might consider is buying a text w/link advert on local tv station websites. High PR transfer, high traffic.
One member explains that he receives one new client/day from his ad, which costs him $500/month.
If you want to take a look at that discussion, here's a thread: http://www.webproworld.com/viewtopic.php?p=156591&highlight=500#156591.

Hi again, cz
Just wanted to inform you that I moved the thread to "Promotion Strategies" as Marketing Insider is mainly for discussion of reports, and this category seemed better suited to capture more discussion related to your topic.
Best wishes to your ad campaign.

With 5k to spend, you should definately try pay per click advertising on search engines.
5k on buying links seems a waste of money to me... with PPC you can get real targeted traffic and track your conversions.

You might also want to use my own (free) web marketing collection (collected on my quest for http://energyray.com self-promotion):
1) You might want to submit your site to directories - http://www.energyray.com/SortedPages/Marketing/Directories.Submission.URLs.htm
2) Also submit to more search engines - http://www.energyray.com/SortedPages/Marketing/Engines.Submission.URLs.htm
3) Do links exchange - http://www.links.energyray.com/directory
