Yahoo! has just updated their front page, and some people are seeing and some are not. If you go to the Yahoo! Upgrade Page (http://www.yahoo.com/upgrade) you can read all about it here: http://www.yahoo.com/upgrade .
Supposedly it's simpler to use. You can go to the Yahoo! Upgrade Page and get the new page right now. I haven't done it yet, but since I'm curious I will probably end up getting it.

I upgraded already this morning. It is much nicer, cleaner and crisper looking.
The one noticable change is the "tabbed search bar" at the top of the page. It used to be just a bland text box that got lost in the page, hardly noticable.
It also appears that you cannot move this search box either. You used to be able to locate it at the bottom of your pages, remember? Now it is stuck to the top.
Page layout is now available thru drop-down menus. It is super-fast too -- and no more need to really go to the layout page at all.
RSS Feeds now mentions that Atom is also available. They knew it, we knew it, might as well just admit eh?
Feed Discovery and addition to your pages is greatly improved. The interface had an overhaul and is much cleaner.
They have also added feed search (by keyword or terms) to this, but as in regular search -- it kind of sucks. Type in "web design" for instance and you get pages of repetitive feed urls.
New to the layout pages on the left side is thumbnail representation of your layout. Hover over the images and it will tell you what module or sub-item it is.
Overall ... much improved. Looks good. 10 thumbs up (yes, I am all thumbs) ;-)

I went to the URL to view the upgrade but it is not available for Safari, Netscape or IE on the Mac yet - they say to check back next week.

You are not the only ones left out gleames. There are several "versions" of My Yahoo out there, some for other countries and some for Yahoo partnerships with broadband providers (like Rodgers, SBC, BT, and so on) who will not be getting the new version just yet. They will be rolled out on different schedules, is how I read it.
Apparantly, it is available for Firefox on OS X though. But there are some DHTML problems with PR 1 in some of the menus, which is a known problem at Yahoo. They are working on it. (Seems there are a lot of DHTML issues involved with Firefox PR1 -- even inside of these phpBB Post a Reply boxes...it is not working right. vBulletin is horrendous to use now. )

Another update Y has done is their dictionary in the reference section, which is something I've always had bookmarked. Haven't noticed great changes though, merely the url. It is now here:
http://education.yahoo.com/reference/dictionary/
The new frontpage does seem cleaner and tightier.
