I maybe embarassing myself here as i'm relatively new to the field of SEO, but when i look at my competitors back links i see that the vast majority of them are sites full of links to crappy sites with more links to the same. And all these sites are run by SEO companies that are obviously reselling this space as a means to gain back links and increase PR.
Isn't this just a big fat con??
I've been looking into the idea of reciprocal links and trying to discover someway of getting relevant links to a life insurance site without it being a competitors. And it seems that the above mentioned "scam" is the way to acheive it. This surely can't be right or a fair level playing field?!?!
