I use several browsers in the course of the day, so when I first encountered this problem I thought it was because I was using a browser other than iE (clearly Google's favorite).

The problem I'm experiencing (along with my client and a handful of others I've polled) is that the bottom URL (usually displayed in green) is no longer clickable, and sometimes, the blue link (the title link at the top) isn't clickable.

The problem seems intermittant. Anyone else having this problem?

Just now I did a basic search on "boatsman hat" in Google, and there were no natural results for that search phrase, but I got a list of sponsored links with no blue title links displaying at all, and the green url links weren't clickable. I tested it, with the same results across four browsers, ie, firefox, opera and netscape.

I'm not noticing any problems with the results. All as normal.

This link display problem has happened with my client and a couple of other people I have asked to check. There does not seem to be any common denominators (like browser type or operating system).

This morning I did a search and no blue links or names appeared. I saved the page and emailed it to a friend to check. The links displayed fine for her. It now appears the lack of blue links displaying seems to be related to the use of XP. That is the only common denominator I can find with my client.

Are you running Norton Internet Security? If so, they have ad blocking turned on by default and it is a huge problem because it not only blocks web site ads but also blocks google adwords and adsense from being displayed and from being clickable.

Other ad blocking software will cause the same effect....major problem for the affiliate & advertising industry.

Yes, that looks like that's the problem. I got an official email from a query to google that said the same thing.

I'll bet this is causing a lot of problems! Glad I don't work in support.

On another note, I finally broke down and installed Service Pack 2 for XP. Already my Norton settings are having to be reinstated. Joy.
