domain name made from search words

I'm new to all of this, but I have an idea that picking a domain name that matchs the top search words for your business might help.
example: keywords are cars, dealership, chicago, joe, crazy, deals,
crazyjoescars.com
Am I thinking along the right lines here or has this been tried with no success?

This has been discussed quite a bit in the search engine forum.

It definately helps in the serps to have the search terms in the domain name. There are a lot of sites that do this, and there are a lot of spammy sites that do this as well.

I think it is an OK practice, as long as the domain mane isn't too rediculous.
Example: credit-card-visa-cheap-application-mastercard-amex-best.com

No, I've kept them simple and not anything like that.
Not span sites or link farms.
Just local listings for a type of service.
Hopefully I can sell some space to other people in the same business.
