On the 18th July 2003 Barry Lloyd published an artical entitled ' Optimizing for Inktomi'.
In it, he make reference to using PFI, does anybody know what this is?

PFI is "Pay For Inclusion".

Inktomi has changed the way they do that I think. "Site match" (also known as 'Might match')* is something like that where you pay to have your site included, but you also have to pay every time someone clicks on your listing.

PFI does not mean your site will be found, only that it will be included. How well the site is found is based on how well optimized the page is.

If you have not had your site optimized, then I would not consider PFI, since you are unlikely to get much benefit. Yahoo is spidering now so it may take a while to be included, it should still happen.

*To clarify, "Might match" means that your listing MAY match someone's search, not as in a "power" match...
