How do I transfer my web pages, e-mail and logs to a new server?
I was able to transfer the web pages using a FTP program but I am unsure about how to transfer the e-mail account and log files.
Thank you in advance for your assitance.

I would contact your hosts new and old to find out the best way to do that. You might not beable to.

Thank you for replying.
My host is not willing to help move the files to the new server since the idea was initiated by me - they will only providing spam protection on their new servers.
I guess I will have to weigh my options - if I want to lose the old e-mails and log files or live with spam.
Thank you again.

on most unix/linux servers there is a dir called mail. You should beable to copy that over to the new server. only thing is when you copy it you will probably need to reset all the permissions. alternatively setup a mail client as a pop3 server and download all the messages to your computer. As far as logs if you have access to raw logs you should beable to download that and upload it to the new server. pay attention to permissions once again. If spam is your concern get mozilla thunderbird. It has a build trainable junkmail filter. Although it gets most junk mail some still gets through. I've turned off my spam assasin cause it was deleting legitimate messages. I get about 200 or so spam a day. Thunderbird filters through about 80% accurately.
