swap files or graphics

I have a media player menu bar that takes a little while to load on my site. Until it does it looks like a graphic file is missing. I am trying to remember how to place a graphic or file there saying something like "Please Wait.....Loading" until the media player menu loads on top of it. Any help would be appreciated.

Can't you use alt text?

I'd also ask yourself how many people are going to wait for it to load? A slow loading site is one of the biggest turn offs for visitors.

Can't use alt text for this situation? There is an alt image choice but grayed out. Not sure why.
The page itself loads quickly but you do have to wait for the media player bar a short while. The site is for a band so people who want to hear the band and song will wait.

Not sure if this would help, but if the section with the media is in a table cell or even could be put in a div with a CSS class you try put a background gif image which might work...
