I have an estore that I've been working at for months now to try and drive traffic to it. I've started a couple blogs and noticed that they are listed in the search engines right away the very next day when I type in my name in the search engines but it hasn't driven any traffic to my site yet.

I was wondering how many senior webmasters use blogging and if it really works to drive traffic to your site.

I'm open for comments so that I can do better online and get some traffic. Here are some of my blogs:

How to Manage Your Home (http://housekeeping.blogspot.com)
Art Gallery by Ann Jordan (http://artgallery.tblog.com)

In addition to blogs, I have started writing editorials and posting them online. I'm hoping these methods will work because my classified ad posting and submitting to search engines has not driven the traffic I need to my main site. I have also created several other websites to link back to my site and have played around with "keywords" and phrases. Any other tips or tricks would be appreciated.

I'm pretty new yet to WebProWorld and it has been my main resource for getting ideas in getting traffic. Some people online are insisting that you have to pay for traffic to get any traffic.

Anyhow, great site and great members here. I'll be looking forward to learning more from everyone.

Welcome to WPW!

So it seems that many are advocating blogs as a good way of improving your serps. I've only just been looking at this area recently myself.

Feel free to ask as many questions as you like in an effort to increase your traffic flow. I'm sure that among the guys in the Search forums, someone will be able to help you further! :-)

I think creating blogs, editorials and so on are all good ways to help promote your site. I think as long as the content your are providing is not duplicated, not too promotional and of genuine use to people then over time it should start generating traffic.

I no longer own the How to Manage Your Home blog. Somebody else does.

I've definately seen how blogging can help now. It's been a few years since I posted this original question and I've come a long way since then. Anyone else out there trying to start marketing online I would highly recommend that you create a blog for your main site. Using blogger.com works just fine to start. :D
