View Full Version : Virtual Hosting - Bad for SEO?

I am currently hosting about 30 sites on a web server (Net Integrator Mark I) using virtual hosting. Our ISP is a Level 6 cable line (4.0 down and 1.5 up) with a dynamic IP. What if any are the pitfalls of this with regards to SEO? I've heard multiple sites on an IP can get you banned, so I'm a bit worried.
Thanks,

I think others in here may say different, but personally I have had no problems hosting hundreds of sites on a single server with a shared IP. I know people who host thousands of domains on single Plesk box and no complaints.
This is quite the norm, is encouraged by ICANN and ARIN, is the reason behind HTTP 1.0, and etc. It is highly doubtful, IMO, that Google or anyone else would try to undermine this by fiddling with results just because they are on the same IP.

hardcoded,
Before this last GOOGLE update, in plenty of time to be picked up I added virtual hosted client that I have crosslinked to my own Site and my Site went to a PR5. The Site is a Rural Water Supply Company, nothing at all to do with web design.
I don't believe they could all of a sudden KILL virtual hosting, it is too widely practiced. Sounds like another myth or an excuse for accompanying shady practices.
