Hi,
I am new to streaming video and read some of the threads about the discussions on streaming video. Though they were interesting, it is really hard for me to understand certain things.

I dont know anything about this and my client wants to have a streaming video (and audio)for online class that he is conducting and he wants to have a pay per view feature.

I contacted some hosting companies and they say that they dont support streaming video in their server. I dont know what this means. The client needs atleast three streaming videos , and a live chat in his website. He hasnt hosted it yet and I am looking for good hosting solution.

Can someone say where I should start and also what I need from my end to do the streaming video.

Thank you
Bharathy Ramamurthy

Guess this is the wrong place for this topic.
Can someone move it to the appropriate forum?

Thank you

Hey Bharathy,

Do some more Web searches for dedicated streaming servers. They do exist, and if your client expects more than 50 people to view his videos simultaneously, you'll need one.

And they do charge for it. $50 a month for 10 videos, but it's worth it to know that numerous people can view the video without the server getting blocked up.

I have a client who uses webcaster.com (http://webcastcenter.com).

Sounds like your client will also need a message board, like this one. They're relatively easy to set up and free. I think this one uses phpBB (http://phpbb.com).
