This forum is a great addition to WPW and I hope it really becomes an area that domain prospectors, investors and the like can exchange relevant ideas and information.

It would be nice if there was some additional information as to criteria for appraising, business factors, etc. to round the forum out a bit.

I've placed many of my domain names on nearly every domain auction / sales site you can think of...even some of the more popular ones that show sales stats don't record any mega sales numbers.

Here's my take: A good domain name is only as good as the idea or concept that gets developed around it. While companies may have spent hundreds of thousands of dollars on domains several years ago, sales data to date will show a different story. The domains that I see selling for anything substantial has a business model or idea wrapped around it or some type of traffic that can be converted to dollars.

Maybe just as important as domain appraisals would be the ability to network with one another, share strategies and possibly match up skill sets for potential partnership opportunities. I like many others have good domains, but lack the time to develop everything on my own.

e.g. Maybe there are some developers, potential investors or entreprenuers reading this forum that need a great domain.

Great ideas keywordguy!

I am moving this to the Domain Game forum where you will find topics similar to what you are proposing and that is the Domain discussion forum. This one we try to keep purely for appraisals.

The only thing to be careful of in discussions is to try not to sound like you are giving a sales pitch for your domains, as for sale ads are not allowed in the forum. I think if you said something like "I have a bunch of travel related domains - would anyone like to partner or brainstorm working together on these?" That would be OK.
