View Full Version : So how does this ranking system work anyway?

So how does this ranking system work anyway? I am just curious. So we score by the last post posted in a thread? So if three threads have my post being last I have three points?

Is that the way we keep points around here?

Anyone know who is winning?

Uhm.... are you talking about the WebProWorld ranking system, Steven? Because that's based on number of posts... otherwise, I'm a little confused as to what you're talking about! :-|

It's done by IQ. If you're new then you are new but after a few posts you get rated by intelligence. If you're intelligent you become a MVP, if you're slightly less intelligent you become a moderator, if you're stupid and arrogant they make you president of the US.

WebPro Newbie - 0-9 posts

WebPro Member - 30-99 posts

All I was told is that the woman *always* has the last word in any argument...and if the male says anything further it's only the start of a new argument!

I always make sure I get the last two words in when having an arguement with my girlfreind. They are "Yes dear". Or if I am perticulary fiesty I expand on those with " You were right again dear".

Steven Glover, I knew immediately what you were asking, and I to, have given the matter some thought.
I now realize that having your name at the right of a topic - meaning last one to post - is actually a badge of shame! It means, espescially for 'older than 24hr posts', that that person killed the thread!
Or , I guess, it means that you answered the question.
Does that answer your question?

Some threads deserve to die. I must be losing my touch though as I seem unable to kill the thread about stopping people copying text from websites in Site Design.

LOL - it's really hard to be stern and sober reading your posts, carbonize - but all that cynicism can't be good for your liver :-)

I'm kinda new here so I might not be getting it but why does each post have same post numbers? Shouldn't they be different?

crafta

Doesn't anybody else get it?
If this is my 14th post, isn't my previous post be post number 13? In other words, would someone who has 14 posts post something so dumb?

I'm not certain whether this is meant as a rhetorical or humorous question, but assuming not: "Posts" = "number of posts", not "post number".

:-)

(How long does it take coffee to make itself anyway?)

(How long does it take that medication to kick in anyway?)

And matauri? Dear? If you ever talk about physics would you wait for me? I'm an existentialist, you know that. You missed a perfectly good oportunity to argue with a man and thus prove him wrong, don't ya see? (would have had pun potential, that one)

Yep once upon a time I was a MVP then Brittany checked my IQ and demoted me to MOD

Umm Cindy now if I ever saw a statement worthy of a promotion to MVP status that's one :)

Since we are on the subject of ranking system, say I was new and researching on subjects on Psych Links and ran into Minstrel's first post linked above. Suppose the content of the post is poor (for the argument sake) but your rank is a Moderator. I would question the intergrity if this site, wouldn't I?

Another thing, while I babble on posting dumb theories in this breakroom, where I have been the most active, I will eventually become a moderator if I babble enough. So what qualification do you need to become a Moderator? Look mom, I'm a Member now.

By the way, please disregard my 14th post theory since it would not make any sense with 15 postS.

You might indeed if I was a moderator when that was posted - that was the day I wandered into WPW for the first time...

But getting back to your other comments, I assure you I didn't mean to be offensive in my earlier reply to you - I was genuinely uncertain about your point. Actually, I still am: Are you saying that you think the way individuals and "number of posts" is identified at WPW is confusing or misleading?

No offense taken at all. I'm just joking around in case you didn't notice. My point truly is, with this ranking system, anybody can be a Moderator and after a while, we might even have Supreme Beings.

You see now, I'm working my way up to be a Web Pro Veteran.

Nope! Not everyone can be a moderator. You must be appointed by the supreme beings, to be a moderator!

That's quite correct, Rocky.. and us happy band of Moderators can only ever dream of reaching the status of supreme beings. I am told they inhabit a permanent nirvana like-state (just off Highway 27!). It is also said they possess supernatural powers, and are all-seeing and all-knowing!
However, as no-one has actually come face to face with the supreme beings this is all the stuff of legend! :c)

Did you mean 'nirvana-like state'? I need a word with the supreme being about some of his moderator's gramma.

Anyway, nice to meet all you guys and I am really kidding around since this is the breakroom. I did find this forum the most intriguing.

I wonder if its really you on your picture. I'll be picking a picture to post over this weekend, a tall black hunk, maybe.

But it is believed there were 2 types of 'supreme beings', one good & one evil. The good one was served by angels, and the evil one has demon helpers.

Sooo....Does that mean that the 'happy band of Moderators' could be demon helpers? Or do you serve as angels? ;-)

Lucifer isn't evil. He just got fed up of doing all the work whilst God took all the credit so he left and set up his own business. Nothing that thousands of us mere mortals haven't done. It's just that God had the better PR people and ruined Lucifers reputation before he could start stealing Heavens clients.

Must mean then that the coach for Man U is god, whilst the Leeds manager is old Beelzebub being foiled yet again.

Cindy you do realize that the Supreme being we moderators server is Brittany, who had better consider us her band of angels. Mind you having heard her plans for world domination this probably proves your point about us being demon helpers :)
