One of my clients has a P3 800/256 MB RAM running Win98SE, Office 2002 and Acrobat 4. A customer of hers sent her a document to convert to PDF which had the Baamini (Tamil language) font.

She tried converting a Word document with the Baamini font to a PDF, but for some reason she received a "Divide Error" (0001:000079F3).

I tried the same thing with my machine, which is also a P3 800/256 MB RAM running Win98SE, and it worked fine. The difference is I'm running Acrobat 5 instead of 4 and Word 2000 instead of 2002.

Has anyone else ever heard of a font issue with either Word or with Acrobat 4 specifically? And does anyone have any other potential thoughts, insights, whatever?

I have found a few similar problems... which version of IE are you using?

Check the windows config.sys
files = 80 is correct for version 4 and 3

Open Office might cure the problem, since it can convert a "word" document to a PDF

You have the better setup as far as memory is concerned, Word 2000 instead of 2002

Yeah, I tried all that. Turned out to be the Adobe PDFWriter driver. So they need to get 5. We ended up putting 2K on and even that didn't take.

But...what can you do, right?
