Hey Everyone.

I was wondering if there was a way to find out if a certain keyword is looked up often. For example, I wanted to go into a certain line of business and wanted to know if the keyword for that product is something often looked for online and purchased online. Is there a way for me to find out how often a certain keyword is searched for?

Thanks for all the help !!

Overture has a search term suggestion tool which seems to be just what you are looking for. Go to http://www.content.overture.com/d/USm/adcenter/tools/index.jhtml and use the "Term Suggestion Tool". This only givs the Overture stats but it is safe to say that it represents what is being searched for elsewhere.

Thanks :-) I know about overture's search term program..what I am looking for is more to put the keyword in and it tells me how many times it was searched for on google or overture in the passed month!

Thanks

OK, that tool tells you how many times a given word or phrase was searched for on overture and its partner sites. I thought that was what you were looking for. I guess I'm not understanding...

I have a tool you can download at http://www.divergentlines.com/downloads-cat-3.html , called Good Keywords. It's a freeware tool that lets you use Overture's search term suggestion and the UK version. Also a lot of other stuff like checking google back links. Pretty cool tool. Just be carefull checking your own domains, it is rumored that the SE's will penalize your urls if they are searched for using tools like this one.

Take out a Google adwords advert. This reports how many times the keywords that cause the advert to appear have been used.

Make sure you also have some kind of site stats package on your pages so that you know how many times people use that keyword(s) actually go to your page.
