Me = Toronto :( take lots of notes!
No, I won't.
I am far away, in little Switzerland.
Anyway, recently I checked how I am ranking in
the search engines, and I get really better
results in Yahoo than in Google.
My hope is that soon also my SERP results in the
main SE, Google, will reach the ones in Yahoo!

I wonder why they cant schedule these events to happen over a weekend. The the seminar is on august 2-5. Thats 3 days that would be subtracted from my vacation time. IMO it would be a good idea if they held these events somewhere that would allow the people attending to get in some vacation time as well. Maybe hold the event in Kuai,Costa Rica,Tahoe.
Wish I could go.

SEO Conferences are always awesome, but I won't be there, too much development and marketing to focus on.
BTW/ I like anyone named TrafficProducer! Holla!

Hello.
By now, I am a bit far away from there. But I will follow it!
Does anybody know when will be some event relationed with SEO in Spain? I am begining to find SEO posters into the forum, but I do not know yet how important is it becoming in our country.
Well, enjoy yourself those attending and, those not being able, wait for the next time.
Kind regards everybody.

Well - Unfortunitly I will not be attending - I have never actually had the pleasure of going yet... But I'm going to have to seriously change that....
Details Details....
Must you always buy tickets in advace? Pros Cons?
Are the conferences always in California?
Are they generally held once a month?
Well - I will definetly be glued to my PC and WebProWorld while all of you are enjoying the discussions in Cali...
Wish I were going to be there.... I may just have to move a few things around... Got to go to Florida on 7-30-04 till 8-2-04 - It'll be hard to squeeze in a second trip so soon.......

Hi there,
Seems these conferences are justifiably more common in the States and to a lesser extent in Europe.
I've never been to one of these conferences yet either but it would be great to have one here in Cape Town, South Africa. There is a budding internet community here and the country is entering a delayed Internet boom. Things are on the up and up!!
Maybe we can see you all here in Cape Town sometime.
Have a great weekend.

clasione,
Search Engine Strategies conferences are held about every other month in locations around the world:
August 2 - 5, 2004 San Jose, CA
October 27 - 28, 2004 Stockholm, Sweden
December 13 - 16, 2004 Chicago, IL
Feb 28 - March 3, 2005 New York, NY
March 22 - 23, 2005 Tokyo, Japan
April 12 - 13, 2005 Munich, Germany
May 3 - 5, 2005 Toronto, Canada
June 1 - 2, 2005 London, England
So, Pico_Train, perhaps there's a chance that Cape Town will be included in the future. :)
Despite the cost, I'm looking forward to learning valuable information and having the opportunity to meet and talk to Danny Sullivan and other individuals from big name companies. I can't really speak for the pros and cons since I've never attended Search Engine Strategies myself. Perhaps someone else could tell us what to expect?

Damn.... wishing I could go. Does anyone have dates for the US shows in 2005? I know the next one is in Chicago in Dec... but who wants to go there in December :). The only one I see is in NYC in Feb... would be nice to have another one towards the west / central US.
Any info apprec! Couldn't find it on the SES site.
Time to go fishing.... TGIF to all!

Well - I'll definetly be at the one in NYC.....

I was fortunate enough to go to SES in NY last time, and I'm going to San Jose as well. I'm sure they could make a lot more dates in a lot more towns and have similar results. I'm from Omaha, so none of them are really close, but our ROI was realized the month after I returned last time, and I know that a few more of these sessions will allow us to realize full ROI almost immediately next time.
The NY session resulted in our sales doubling, and I would anticipate we could just about do that again with the information in some of the other sessions. If you haven't gone already, then quit saying "I'll do it" and do it already.

Garrett attended this past Chicago conference in December. For an idea of what it's like you can find his coverage in the Search Engine Insider Reports forum:

That'll be nice and easy to get to....

Glad to hear you'll be there! We (WebProWorld) try to attend every conference we can... so perhaps you'll see us there ;)

I attended NYC this spring with one of my employees and our ROI was almost immediate. Also was happy to see a lot of old friends. Can't make CA but we are planning on NYC in 2005 and maybe I will attend Chicago as well. Went to school there 20 years ago...might be nice to go back.

Unfortunately, I will not be attending. I am turning as Green with envy as I seen Brittany in the Witch Hunt newsletter. (You look like you need a break Brittany)
Unfortunately, I will not be attending. Too far to travel I live in the United Kingdom.

I think I have been to all of the SES conferences except for 1 and have spoke at most of them. My recommendations for those attending for the first time are the following:
1. Print out the agenda for each day and review the session descriptions and see what interests you. Circle the sessions you are most interested in and wish to attend. If they overlap, you can bounce from session to session. There are a number of sessions but Danny has done a great job of organizing it in a logical manner. Don't worry about being advanced or not -- look at the subject matter and attend.
2. By far the best information comes from the networking and those discussions held over a cold beverage. The hotel bar will be packed with people into the wee hours of the morning and that is where you will find the "good stuff." If you are registered you should have received the networking/party list. There are a number of published and "last-minute" events that will be happening as soon as the sessions end and the exhibit floor closes.
3. Ask speakers for their presentations. If you attend a session and the presentation is not in the book, ask them for a copy. Many speakers (like me) have to get client approval on the presentation and that often means missing the deadline for getting them in the book. Jupiter does a pretty good job of gathering them and posting them on the site after the conference but this way you get it directly from the source.
4. The killer party of this event will be the Google Dance -- it is a mega party at the Googleplex on Tuesday night. Google will have buses that pick you up at the conference and take you to the party at Google - and bring you back. This will be the 3rd year they have had the party and it is a perfect time to meet the folks from Google, eat, drink and of course, dance.
5. Be a sponge. There will be a lot of information dumped on you. Use your normal filters to determine what is hype & BS and what is the killer nugget of info. Many of the speakers are competitors and will not give you all of the secrets but will often allude to something that when given a little thought can be very valuable.
I hope this helps those going for the first time. I look forward to meeting you at the event.
Regards,
Bill Hunt

We did the London SES this year. Great stuff. Between a colleague and myself we managed to cover a whole range of really useful info from the various sessions.
Danny is a great speaker and mod.
