View Full Version : CONTEST: Help Chris Find a Nickname!
Brittany

Here's a challenge for you:
It's recently come to our attention that our Insider Report writer Chris Richardson (who currently goes by Chris R (http://www.webproworld.com/profile.php?mode=viewprofile&u=64) here on WebProWorld) needs a new member name.
Why? Well, we don't want to cause any confusion between our Chris R (http://www.webproworld.com/profile.php?mode=viewprofile&u=64) and the Chris_R from WebmasterWorld.
Maybe it's because we've been staring at our monitors too long... but it appears that the iEntry/WebProWorld staff have run out of ideas!
This is where we need your help. We need something creative... something that has a ring to it... something that you wouldn't mind seeing all over the forums as Chris starts writing more and more Insider Reports for WebProWorld!
Just try to come up with a new nickname for Chris. C'mon, we DARE ya!
Just keep it clean. No profanity and nothing offensive, ok?
Think you can handle that? Post your suggestions here.
If we choose the nickname YOU suggest, not only will you get to see Chris change his name to that nick, but we'll also give you a free Gmail account.
Not a bad deal, eh?
So, show us what you've got.. I can't wait to see what you come up with :)
Brittany
and the WebProWorld Team
PS - HUGE Thanks to Fathom (http://www.webproworld.com/profile.php?mode=viewprofile&u=74) for this great idea!

Back in the days of the BB (bulletin board)... or was it, bbb? Too much sleep since then. Anyway, back in the mid 90's, I used to go by Ctrl-C, because I was always troubleshooting my batch files and having to cancel them to make tweaks.
Now, I don't know Chris R, but perhaps there's something there with a keyboard keystroke combination.
Good luck :)

Back in the days of the BB (bulletin board)... or was it, bbb?
It was BBS (bulletin board system). Ah, the days before the WWW.
My Suggestion for Chris: TheInsider, The_Insider
Kind of mysterious sounding...like The Lone Gunmen on the X-Files (yep, I was/am an X-files nerd)

Thanks!! Man it's been a LONG time. The name brings back good memories though... Even though I barely knew what I was doing ... :)
BTW, if they do go with a keyboard control sequence as a nickname, richkoi can have my gmail account ;)

So my suggestion is Keyser

No wonder I can never get a good member name. There are too many Chris Rs out there.
How about CrispyInside? / ChrispInside?
Or am I being too cheesy again, like my websites, and the colour of my walls.....

I believe since Chris is an Insider Reporter it involves an element of reveling secrets so only 007 matches perfectly for the type of work he is doing.
Following are few suggestions for his ID:
Cris_RI007
Chris_007
CR_007
C_Rich007
Cris_Rich007
Chris and Britanny I hope you like the IDs.

Abettor or The Abettor or Dark Abbetor:
Means colleague, co-conspirator, aid, ally, insider or my fav ->conspirator)
Chronicle or Dark Chronicle:
Meaning report, or in your case the reporter.
Epic or The Epic:
Meaning epic... lol
PotBoiler:
Alternate for the word story (history), a (the Pot boiler) -> Plus the obvious Marijuana connotation makes it an instant hit.
...Finally
Christicle:
Don't ask!

i've decided to go with the vanilla "CRich" (suggested by GSO) for practical purposes. however, the creativity of Sharpy's (Keyser Soze) deserves merit too. i wish i could reward you all w/a gmail account for participating.
thanks again for your input and suggestions.

Wow, great suggetions! You guys had us in stitches reading this thread :-D
Unfortunately, like all good things, this contest must come to an end...
Judging this contest was harder than we thought it would be. There were so many creative names!
We managed to narrow it down to two suggestions: one Chris will be using because it is practical and, well, it just makes sense. The other, however, was so creative that we thought it deserved a prize as well.
GSO - congratulations, Chris has taken your suggestion and changed his name on WebProWorld to CRich (http://www.webproworld.com/profile.php?mode=viewprofile&u=64)
Sharpy - Your suggestion "Keyser Soze" was too creative not to be mentioned! As Chris said, "If I was half as cool as Keyser Soze, I'd be happy."
Thanks to your great suggestions you both will be getting Gmail account invites courtesy of WebProWorld.
Everyone else - you ALL came up with some very creative, practical, and even hilarious entries. Thanks for giving us a good chuckle!
Congratulations again - and thanks for entering! :)
