Help!

Does anyone know which company on the net sells the best web analytics software? Best meaning "covers all the bases for a reasonable price." I am seriously considering purchasing software from a company called "Urchin." Their software is a bit pricey. Has anyone used Urchin's software? Would you recommend it?

Advize pleeze. Thank you.

Yes, urchin is pretty good.

Have you looked at your webhost ?
Quite often they may have an integrated stats program either included in a hosting plan or for a moderate fee.

I've used WebTrends, ClickTracks and Urchin. My favorite is Urchin.

Depending upon your budget or monthly capabilities you can use WebTrends hosted solution for Small Business at $35 per month.

ClickTracks requires a Windows server to run it's software. However, if you PM me I can put you in touch with someone that might be able to help you.

If you want you might check into Servermatrix.com or theplanet.com and see if you can get a hosting account through them. They include Urchin 5 on their servers.

i hope this helps.

Thanks Web Doctor and Cyanide. I've heard of WebTrends. I think they recently bought WebPosition Gold (1st Place Software). I will have a closer look. I'll also have a look at the other sites the good doctor suggested. My hosting service doesn't offer a click analysis program...so I guess I need a new host! Since I posted my previous note, I've discovered an inexpensive click tracking software program at http://www.clicks-counter-pro.com It appears to have most of the features I need, but not all the features that I want. I guess Urchin is still the boss.

Thanks again for your helpful info and suggestions.

I have just started using Urchin 5.6 on a friends website and it provides me with all the statistics I need. I chose this over webtrends, because Urchin does not have reoccurring costs once you purchase their license. Also Webtrends seemed to charge you more as your traffic increased, which doesn't make any sense for this type of software.

So I recommend Urchin 5.6 as a great value.
