Hello.
I have a client from Germany and we've been working on an online gaming site for him. People will be able to signup for free but there will also be VIP subsciptions.
Currently the only viable option is Paypal because of its low cost and incrased security, but the fact that users will have to leave our main site and sign up at Paypal is something that takes away from the usability of our site as well as the features we have embedded (never mind that it could confuse new users).
Are there any cheap but also reliable solutions that process credit cards transparently so the user never leaves our site and they only get a confirmation or denial of their purchase?
I know about 2Checkout, but from what I read in this forum it's not the best option around...
Please, let me know what you think.
Thank you in advance.

I would not suggest Paypal either - unless when you say gaming, you mean "games" and not gambling. Is that what you are referencing?

Yes, I'm reffering to online games.

Well most third party processors like 2CO & Paypal are going to require you to leave your site because they have a proprietary gateway & this way they can make sure that your clients understand / know that it is going to say ABC Pay on their credit card statements and not Online Games.

If you are from the European Union and do online gaming, MultiCards can accept your business. They charge a higher fee than 2CheckOut and their set up fee is high, because it is a 'buy in' rate, but I can recommend their services to anyone. They have done this to scare off the smaller companies only looking for a good rate and processing 1k/year. They will probably set you up directly with their acquiring bank and you will have to make some amendments to your website. (Contact information, T&C etc.) My account runs through them as well. :)

Regardless of Post age, this topic shows up in the search engine results so I felt it would be of use to add to the old post and supply a link to a list of European Processors:
European Card Review | Payment Card Processors (http://www.europeancardreview.com/buyersguide/card-processors.htm)
Cheers!

Good link, although I think the majority of the companies listed have a minimum slaes volume requirement and do not work with smaller merchants.
Smaller merchants should look for resellers of these companies.
Here is a small list of reputable European processors that are official resellers of different acquiring banks:
WorldPay
MetaCharge
MultiCards
ChronoPay
Ogone

You might want to try a merchant processor (http://www.cardservicesales.com/) to get confirmations. There are many cheap reliable solutions to credit card processing. Try google or whitepages and search for merchant processors if you are still interested. Let me know how it turns out.

You could go with Pago or Wirecard, since your client is german, then it would be the most logic thing to do.
Wirecard can provide solutions for all types of online business except Adult and Pharmacy and a few others.
But gaming and online games isn't any problem.
Check with chronopay, multicards & worldpay they are in business around years and reputed one.
