View Full Version : Anyone had issues with UK2.Net?

I am having the damnedest time trying to get a client's site placed. The optimization effort is tight and has been reviewed by other SEO firms. The link-densities are comperable to the competition and everything else about the effort appears to be well done but we still can't get the placement.
Five months into the campaign, I am grasping at straws. Has anyone in this forum ever experienced problems with the host UK2.NET? As far as I can tell UK2.NET is totally above board but as I said, I am grasping at straws trying to find a reason the site will not move in Google or other SE rankings.
Thanks

Can't comment on the host, but
do you want to place the URL, so we
can have a look-see ?

I have used UK2.net to register domain names, and I've found them to be highly competitive on pricing, and I've experienced no problems with regards to reliability. However, I should point out that I don't use their hosting service.

Hi Jim,
What exactly is the problem ?
Is it not being placed high enough on the search engines?
It's weird, but when I type in 'thephonebutler.co.uk', there's no listings.
But when I type in site:thephonebutler.co.uk thephonebutler.co.uk - you have over 280 pages in google's index.

Thanks Cyanide. I can't figure it out. Google sees the site and has obviously transited the pages within the site but when measuring back-links and (often) when trying to find it, Google doesn't show record of it. (then again, sometimes it does).
The same can be said of other search engines. The client has another site on that server and the same things are happening for it. (www.travelbutler.co.uk)
Aside from hosting part of the site at another ISP and keeping the back-end at UK2 (ecommerce issues), I am not sure what to do at this point. Any suggestions as to what could be so strange about the site(s)?

I agreed with you cyanide, the site is certainly well indexed. I tried searching for 'phone butler' and the site was PR4 on Google UK. I also noticed that the date the page was indexed was only yesterday (3rd Nov). A good listing on Open Directory too.
One problem could well be that the site's name is competing with a telephone answering device (of the same name) that seems extremely pro-active in its web marketing.
A couple of small points re: meta tags, you might want to add variations of phone butler.. eg. phonebutler, thephonebutler, etc into your keywords. Even short 2-3 word phrases could also be added.
Hope that's of some help
Paul
