NEW FORMAT
The DFWSEM Association continues to make great strides as an organization. The board of directors has been elected, bylaws have been ratified, and the group will file for 501c3 non-profit status later this month. Now that this important business has been addressed, future DFWSEM meetings will focus on exchanging ideas, networking, and educating the DFW business community about the value of search engine marketing.

We are kicking off this format change with two excellent presentations:

1 – “Branding in the Search Engines”
Search engines are generally considered a direct response vehicle. However, smart marketers can realize the value of search branding.

Companies that may not be as widely recognized can, in a moments notice, gain the immediate "top of mind awareness" simply by associating themselves with a group of popular search terms. With the proper amount of exposure, these companies can gain the reach and frequency necessary to create strong brand awareness, without the vast expense of traditional national marketing expenditures.

This topic will explore the AMA's definition of branding and how search can help increase brand equity. Or, how search branding can help a lesser known companies gain awareness and establish an identity for certain industry categories.

Who are you and what does your company name mean to those searching on the web?

Presented by Tony Wright, VP of Media/SEM at Zunch communications.

2 – “User Behavior on Search Engines”
Want to learn more about how customers are using search engines? Is it better for a company to be listed in the search engine paid advertisements, the organic listings, or both? How loyal are users to their favorite search engine?

Christine Churchill, President of KeyRelevance, a Dallas based usability and search engine marketing firm, will discuss the Enquiro report and several other recently released user behavior studies. The surprising findings shed some interesting light on how customers actually interact with the leading search engines.

Both Tony and Christine will take questions following each presentation.

Plan on attending early for a drink, dinner, and networking with the area’s top search marketers and marketing managers. We look forward to seeing you there!
