Solid, Feature Rich, Shopping Cart

Hello All,

I'm in the process of locating a shopping/ecommerce cart that will provide unlimited categories in which products can be associated, cross-selling or up-selling, built-in gift certificate and mailing list features, customer login, real-time inventory management (not required), and program customization capabilities.

I've searched the Internet and have found variations of products that either have all or some of these features. Could you please recommend some feature-rich shopping carts to me if you know any? I want to make sure the shopping cart has a solid company working behind it and favorable reviews from people who have used it before. This would really help my company out.

Search for "oscommerce loaded" for a number of feature rich open source shopping carts. Many of them are backed and supported by web hosting companies and further supported by the community.

Take a look at OSCommerce. It's Open Source (meaning free!), and written in PHP. Has many options available, and a large user base.

There are a number of softwares out there that can do these things. As i understand it, you are looking for the following things:

unlimited categories
cross-selling or up-selling,
built-in gift certificate
mailing list features
customer login
real-time inventory management
program customization capabilities.

I know of a couple of softwares that can do these things...give me a few more details on what you need for program customization capabilities. I want to make sure i fully understand before making a detailed post on each feature.
