Hello,
My company is organizing an International Event in October and we want to get the registration fee from people though credit card. We need this setup till october so we need a temporary e commerce solution. I personally know about 2checkout.com and ikobo.com. Please recommend me any solution that can fit our needs.

Hey Ferhanz-
How many different types of registration are there? Are there a limited number of people who can register? How do you want the event participation information indexed?
Let me know and i will be happy to give you a few options.

Well basically there are 2 kinds of registrations one for members and others for non members, the registration fee for non members is more than the members,
secondly i dont understand by how will we index our registrations, kindly explain it to me.

Hey Ferhanz-
There are a couple of ways you can do this.
The first is a bit more time consuming, but cheaper overall. This would include building two forms in HTML where members and non-members can register. You would need to make sure the forms are running in an SSL locked environement. You can have the contents of the forms submitted to you by email (as long as your email is secure). You can then process the registrations by hand, manually record conference attendees, and send confirmations manually.
Option number two would involve using a pre-packaged ecommerce software. You could setup the two groups as "products."
Once someone comes in and chooses to register, you can ask them any questions and have them enter payment information. A software will be able to database the attendees and automatically charge cards and send out confirmations. This option will also eliminate the cost of an SSL cert as most ecommerce companies will provide a shared SSL location for you.
We have done registration sites for many companies and the second option has been the best. Here is an example of a registration site for photography seminars. This site was done for for Popular Photography Magazine and Sony.
http://209.249.75.158/
Once you go to this URL, click schedule/register on the left side, then choose a date and click Register Now on teh right hand side. You will then hit their online registration site. The process could be similified, however, Popular Photography has some regulations regarding where things are posted on thier site.
I hope this helps!
