I don't know if this is the right place to discuss this or not, but here goes.
I have a friend that wants to sell a house and wants to advertise on the web. To save her the money of registering a domain and having a web site hosted, I offered to tag her add to my domain. Came this be done without affecting my B&B web site, and if so, how do I do it?

Hi Ol Gnome,
For selling a home, I would probably suggest listing on a specialized site specifically for home sales.
It can't hurt to put it on your own domain, except, how many people do you think will see it? But you could also link to it from the specialized site(listing)
If your host allows it, I would probably suggest creating a sub-domain and putting the page there.
eg) http://house.gnomeshollow.com or similar
Hi again Ol Gnome -
There is a home listed in The Sunshine Coast Free Classifieds at www.coastguild.com - once you have the page prepped on your site (which could easily be something like www.gnomeshollow.com/house (inside the directory "house" - in your public_html folder - call the page with the house listing "index.html" and browsers will default there) - add the link to the Real Estate Classifieds.
Right now if you type in "Gibsons BC for sale by owner" you get:
http://www.google.ca/search?q=gibsons+bc+for+sale+by+owner&ie=ISO-8859-1&hl=en&meta=
That listing is #3 or 4... there's someone in every day using that term or something quite similar.
Good luck! Email me or post again if you need any help with this one - I'm happy to tell you what I know.

Another avenue would be to have a local classifieds link maybe off your site. Many times people like to know whats going on & whats available in an area where they have liked holidaying.
