Can anyone recommend a service that will allow me to accept non-credit card payments online from customers worldwide?
I currently only accept credit cards and debit cards but increasingly I am being asked to provide an alternative.
Any help or suggestions would be much appriciated.
Cheers

What other alternatives are being asked for?
You can always accept checks... there used to be programs out there at Staples and the like that would allow you to collect routing and account numbers to accept checks by phone and internet.
I accept checks through PayPal and 2Checkout.com. Between the two, I can accept just about any form of payment. (Plus MasterCard, Visa and Discover through another merchant account.)

ACH only works in the US. There really arent any alternatives for a worldwide solution. You could always request a cashiers check or maybe western union, but as far as electronic transactions, you are pretty much stuck with credit cards.

What type of payments are your customers looking to make? Are you trying to find a way to process or track payments? Many times, international customers prefer a wire transfer. Give me a few more details and i will be happy to point you in the right direction.

I have recently launched an online global directory for ecotours. They fee is annual so I'm currently using the PayPal subscription payment service.
Recently I've had applications coming from Costa Rica and Nepal who both claim not to have credit card facilities. They have both asked if I have additional ways of making payment. The current annual cost of a listing (as of 16th June)is £40.
The beauty of the PayPal subscription is that I don't have to worry about chasing payment in 12 months time when their listing subscription is up for renewl.
We are currently not receving enough applications to justify spend on an expensive solution.
Thanks for everybodies help so far.
Cheers

You need to ba a little careful because it is a yearly membership. It would be possible to get a chargeback up to 6 months after the 1 year term expires. If you ever do get a merchant Account, this will make your business extremely high risk, and it would be nearly impossible to get approved anywhere. If you start getting complaints or chargebacks through paypal, they will probably suspend your paypal account.

I love the Idea, you could make payments into any branch of HSBC, last time I looked.
International Return Coupons, Amercian Express Gift Vouchers, 'cash cards' netpay/anypay/echecks.
I looked into all these options before I could get on the 'credit card ladder' I don't think all of them were scams, if you haven't got a credit card, you have NO choice but to pay using these methods to get products & services you need (it's possible to buy webhosting office supplies etc.with e-gold - via their directories).
If you're in a poorer country - this is probably the only way into the internet world.
OT -I expect a couple of US dollar earned via an e-gold 'pay to read e-mail/advertising' programs, paid into an e-gold account & exchanged for cash is quite a handy way of building money, if you don't have a bank account ????

Now after several years your customers can finally pay with cash online, so no credit card or PayPal account is needed. Anyone without credit card can pay for your product or service.

Gary,
I personaly have been using Paypal for some years now. I only do business with people in the USA. But I normally choose thier own Online Ecommerce plan. Most of my clients choose ither PayPal.com or 2checkout.com.
With Paypal you get your money within 2-3 business days.
With 2 Checkout you get your money on like the 15th of each month.
Hope this helps you out.
