governmentsecurity.org

Hello,

I am looking to cache in my chips.

I have run the governmentsecurity.org forum and security site for the last 2 years and frankly life is just getting to busy to maintain it.

Here are some stats.

The forum has aproximatly 14,000 + members. It is well known in security circles. At the time we shut down membership we had 300 + people signing up each day. Aprox. 8,000 + and growing unique IP's visit daily.

I am hoping to sell the entire site including content. I simply want to tranfer the hosting to the buyer and be done with it. The site has almost 1gb of security tools contributed by members and holds the top google spot of "Network Security Articles", "Government Security" as well as many more searches.

Any idea how much it would be worth or where to sell it? Any comments will be appreciated.

governmentsecurity.org should be worth quite a bit as a developed site. The key I would think is getting in front of someone in this industry who would be interested. I would do a featured listing on Sedo and see what kind of offers you get.

This would be more of a site appraisal then a domain appraisal. I would love top buy it (IT security is a 'hobby' of mine) but could only afford about $3000 which is not the true value based on traffic. For the right buyer I guess you could fetch anywhere between $3.000 - $25.000 (vague I know but these kinds of ventures are always difficult due to the high maintenance requirements for these kinds of sites). But finding the right buyer might be the challenge. Sedo would be a good suggestion.

Good Luck.
