Is toonboom studio a hard to learn program? I took a look at the website and it looks like you can do a lot of traditional animation styles along with some contemporary style animation techniques. Any one here have any caveats?

I tried it for the trial period, and as soon as I get the money, I'm going to purchase it. It really is very good. Have you tried their trial version? It's worth the download.
It's based on the traditional cel drawing technique, but has a few other benefits over and above that. For instance, it now has a "lipsynch" feature; the program will show you, pretty darn well, what mouth gesture to use on which frame. Some tweaking necessary, but much easier than without this feature.
Also, the camera feature. You can pretty well animate part and/or all of the screen(s) pretty much however you like. By the time I finished with the tutorial, I hadn't gotten the knack of this feature, but the site's tutorials will give a very good idea of the possibilities.
I know I sound like I'm advertising this product :> I'm just impressed with the program!
