I need help because something strange is happening.

Recently I was asked to manage a website by a friend because he was not happy with the guy who was managing it. He got a new hosting service and asked the guy to change the nemeservers to the new hosting service which he did. Then I uploaded the index file with:


This Site Is Currently Undergoing Maintenance!
Should Be Up And Running In A Couple Of Hours
Sorry For The Inconvenience

Now the problem is that I keep seeing the bluehost splash screen that the site is parked but my friends see the maintenance notification. I went to another computer and saw the maintenance notification but coming back to my computer, the bluehost splash screen still shows up.

I cleared the cookies and the cache, switched from firefox to internet explorer but the same thing happens. This is strange.

Has anybody experienced such things? Please I need help.

Try viewing from a proxy server like Proxify. If you can see the maintenance page then your ISP is caching the net.

I think you are right. Every of my friends on the same ISP are seeing the Bluehost splash screen. I tried a proxy and saw the maintenance page. I called up my ISP and they say their technical team will be seeing to the issue. I will wait and come back to give the feedback. Thanks a lot and I appreciate it.

sounds like a server issue with the isp.

Both local ISPs do this to conserve resources. So yes it is kind of a ISP server issue but not the kind of issue I assume you were implying with your reply.

Pain in the butt when you are trying to do a new Wordpress install!!!

Thanks HTMLBasicTutor, The issue has been resolved. It was the cache of my local ISP and their engineers have taken care of the problem. It is a site where I wanted to migrate a wordpress powered site.
