View Full Version : Pay Per Click Poll Question

I have succumbed to the fact that I will most likely have to submit to one of the pay-per-click services. Before I do, I have been thinking (uh-oh)and would like to pose a question.

Google, being the top SE has a multitude of baby shower sites. If I choose to go with Google, I fear that I will still be lost in the crowd, due to my limited budget. So....

Question 1: Would it be better for me to advertise with Google (see above) or would it be better for me to go with maybe the 4 or 5th most popular search engine?

Question 2: Is there a way I can find out how much another competative site is paying to obtain a high ranking?)

This is all very new to me and I want the most bang for my buck...of course, who doesn't? :)

Your opinions would be appreciated. I'm not sure if Google has scanned for new sites lately, but I am not even in the top 10000. Yikes :0

I have been linked to several sites lately...yeah! Still nada.

I reviewed your site and would recommend the following campaigns.

Cost-per-click through Yahoo Shopping.
Pay-per-click through Overture for less competitive keywords. This will help keep your PPC price down and hopefully get you down to the minimum rate of 10 cents per click.

Yahoo Shopping could possibly be your best bet as it is the highest trafficed shopping mall.

My other recommendations would be to find all the shopping malls you can find and use them. Some are free, some have annual rates, and some have CPC programs.

I would recommend staying away from topsites.com for the following reasons:

1. They spam to get clients.
2. They have no contact information on their site, at least I could never find any.

I hope this helps.

Definitely stay away from Topsites, as they are a scam IMO. Not just my opinion either from the looks of the SERPs for Topsites scam (http://www.google.co.uk/search?sourceid=navclient&q=topsites+scam).
