I've got some jokes and humor pages that seem to be getting some decent traffic and I'm wondering if there's anyway to make a little spare change off of them. I can't really see what kinds of ads could be run on them, as I'm guessing my visitors are looking for a laugh, and not to buy anything...
But still, does anyone have any creative ideas on how to monetize semi-successful jokes-type website pages?
Thanks.

I'd possibly do some Amazon affiliate ads. Could showcase humor books, comic books, graphic novels, etc. Have you taken a look at sites similar to yours to see how they're monetizing their pages? That may help you come up with some ideas.

I would suggest affiliate type stuff for joke related products. Even practical joke items like whoopee cushions. And if you can find joke material in the public domain, you could even potentially put together an eBook. I don't think adsense would pay much. But check it out. If it does, then you could do a combo approach.

If you get local type traffic you could contact clubs and advertise upcoming events.

Try adding a "donate" button from Paypal. It takes about 2 minutes to set up if you have an account. You could say "Did we make you laugh? Consider donating to help keep this site running" or something like that. Make it fun and who knows?

Adsense pays the best. Amazon will advertise with google and their ads will appear with other ones. Depending on the key words used for comedy - jokes and how much people pay for them determines how much you earn.

Sign up for Google Adsense and let them figure out which ads to serve. Provide them with space for nice sized ads at the top and sides of the site...don't bury them. Sometimes the ads are retargeted from a previous visit to an advertiser's website which has a high conversion rate - ie. you were just shopping for trampolines and it shows you an ad for trampolines.

Why not try both the Paypal donate button AND Google Adsense (but make sure you place the ad in an appropriate position on the page, or you may turn some people off your site quickly.)
