View Full Version : Conflict with multiple SEO plugins?

After installing some new plugins, I discovered that some of them include similar SEO features - like title tag formatting, post url formatting, etc.
I've also discovered that when I update a theme itself, it sometimes includes its own SEO features, too.
Is it possible all these features can start conflicting with each other? I've had some suspicious URL crawl error reports coming from GWT, and I'm wondering if this might be the culprit.

Yes they can conflict (besides adding processing time to the rendering of your pages). Pick one or none if the theme itself includes SEO features.

Thanks for the tip.
One thing I'm wondering about, though. I'm pretty sure the SEO plugins I have loaded control how urls are written for posts. If I end up changing/deleting some of these settings during my "seo house cleaning" -- won't I end up with broken links?

Look at how the structure is now.
See if it altered Settings >> Permalinks.
Copy and replace how the Permalinks are now if removing the plugins makes a mess.

By the way, what theme are you using and what SEO plugins?
Also what HTMLBasicTutor said about permalinks.
