Guys,

I found that this is the place where I can know how can I recover my PC's password which I forgot. I have asked one of my friends and he says to me to make another XP setup. But so far I know that making fresh XP setup removes all files saved on my document.

So can anyone help me how can I recover my PC's password without making a XP setup?

Best Regards

I happened to have recently read an article that talked about this neat little program called ophcrack. It worked for me when resetting my mom's laptop, but it got mixed reviews from others.

Give it a try.

Isn't it enough to remove the internal battery for some minutes and reset the password? That was at least how it was done some years ago.

The password is saved in the registry of the XP install. I don't think removing the battery would do anything other than reset the CMOS password if it had one already.

You can do a couple of different things. If you are using windows xp pro try and log in as Administrator and a "null" password, alternatively if you have windows home edition or cannot use the previous method this software will help you create a boot disk that will allow you to reset any users password. Passware lostpassword.com

Good luck
