For years a site www.companya.com has been a masked redirect to www.companyb.com. This means that NetworkSolutions (domain holder) brings the companyb.com site up in a frame showing only www.companya.com in the URL.

www.companya.com is fairly highly ranked. It has no other pages ranked other than the main URL since the URL is masked. I want/need (for site technical reasons relating to cookies and POST's not working properly with IE) to have www.companya.com simply redirect to www.companyb.com.

Is this a good idea or will it hurt my rankings badly? www.companyb.com is not well ranked.

Rather than start this discussion all over again, ad infinitum, please give these threads a gander and see if there is any worthwhile advice in any of them. Then, if you still have a question, come back and ask. You are sure to receive help when others are convinced you've at least tried on your own, first.
