I have just had an iphone app made and it is about to go to the apple istore for approval. Should go live in a couple of weeks. But I am now thinking of android and Microsoft app systems. The guy who made the apple app has no experience of other technologies. I was recently told that world wide there are 33,000 different technoligies many of which do not work on other makers hardware/equipment.

My legs went to jelly at the concept of "overworking"

I note Dave Sawyer was talking app wars a while back, but I did not want to get wrists slapped for topping an old thread. So are there any easy peasy tutorials for total idiots out there on Android and Microsoft app development I can take a peak at and make a pathetic attempt to develop myself.

Is it worth the effort or are one or two systems about to disappear into the void that is redundancy in other peoples opinions

Well, while I can't offer up any of the sought after tutorials, I can say that I find no reason to believe that either iOS or Android are going to vanish in the foreseeable future. As for MS, IMO the jury is still out.

I think the iphone platform will be around for a while, too.

Do feel free to reference old threads in a new one if you feel it would help.

I found that developing for both Android and Windows is easier than developing for iPhone. I put one app up on all three platforms. I get more than 10 times as many sales on iPhone than I do on Android and get hardly any sales at all on Windows. I think it is worth developing a version for Android, but I wouldn't bother about the others for now.

Android development uses Java which is not a difficult language to learn. I suggest you download Eclipse and the SDK and work through some of the tutorials. If you find it too hard to convert the iPhone app, maybe I can help you out.
