View Full Version : Website vs Wordpress
Hello friends,
Please shed a light on my dilemma and hope I am in a right place to ask that question. I've got a website pr=3 established through the years of submission to SE, Directories, some links and so on. Though my site on Google on first page with few keywords I've gor only around one inquiry per week. To increase a visibility I was offred a help from my provider and he organized a wordpress blog inside of my webpage. Though I am not a great blogger so far my 5 articles there did not bring me much traffic and I see the point to write very often there and I will try do do so. But recently I was suggested to transfer my website into wordpress blog format. Doing that improves structure, graphic and SEO principles. Please advise whether transferring my website into wordpress is a good idea and if yes, please indicate main points or tips what I should do of doing it by myself (not being a webmaster but an amateur learning from your forum). I really appreciate your time to enlighten my understanding of the right Web.
With warm wishes,
Michael.

As we have said in the past, @mib, keep writing, and enroll the skills of a good English/Russian editor. You are riding the wave of your early articles, and like every wave, running the risk of being beached eventually. New articles on your main domain are the most critical need, at present, STAT!
I cannot disagree with your suggestions and I am actually started drafting an article or blog about fear which it was suggested earlier. Your spirit was moving to start that. So do you believe that my question is irrelevant? Then please advise me is better to add articles in a wordpress blog which is a page of website or inside of website in Article page? Also do you think RDF files may improve visibility? Thank you kindly for your time and availability for some newbies as myself.

So do you believe that my question is irrelevant?Never! Your question is totally relevant. What would ever give you cause to think that?
The only point I'm making is that regardless how many ways we wave the same flag, that flag will become tattered if not replenished or reinforced. The point has been made. Now move on to the next one... That is what I'm going on about. Nothing to do with relevance. It is all relevant.
Thanks Roy, so much for willingness to reinforce my ability to write more. Again what would be your advice where to put my new articles in Wordpress which linked with my website or into website itself if to keep them separate is still the best idea? Thank you kindly for taking time and looking at my situation closer.

You might find this thread helpful in making your decision: Blog: On Site vs. Off Site - SEO Advantages (http://www.webproworld.com/webmaster-forum/threads/90751-Blog-On-Site-vs.-Off-Site-SEO-Advantages).
These days, I would be inclined to put the blog on my main site. And, depending on which site it is, it could be a superior structure for SEO, but which of your sites is the one in question?
Thanks friend for your inputs so much. As my blog is on my main site as sub-domain I understand that there no need to to transfer my main site into wordpress looking site? Please advise what is the best place to add my articles into blog or into webpage where already 5 articles exist? Also if the should bea dded into wordpress blog what is the way to promote this blog - through SEO plugging or something else?
MAy I have more inputs regarding whether is it worth to transform a website into Wordpress Blog looking website? If yes, please indicate some rules how to do in simple way. I really appreciate and looking forward to hearing from you some professional advices.
Thanks a lot. Michael.

wordpress is a content management system that has a blog built in. This means you can likely transfer your current website content to wordpress.
There is great documentation - http://codex.wordpress.org/New_To_wordpress_-_Where_to_Start
If all else fails, hire a wordpress web developer or consultant.
Thank you friends for your inputs and info. As I understood though my blog is already as a subdomain on my website it is still worth to make ALL webpages on wordpress blog by making Wordpress as a main domain. May we transfer a banner as well as all other pictures on a new template? Also how can we put a nice template into the blog? Thank you so much for your great help.
Cheers, Michael.
