I'm looking for a plugin that will verify a visitor's email address before they can download content from my blog.

So say they want to download a PDF I have linked to my site, they will have to enter an email address and will receive a verification email with a link that will verify it's their actual address.

Thanks a lot!

This will be much easier if you have an email marketing account set up. I use Emma and something like this would take minutes to set up. It would save all your emails in an opt-in database, too.

If you don't have email marketing, just use an auto responder on your email. This will probably be found in your cpanel. Set up a form (gravity forms is nice) to take the name and email address, have the form send to your dedicated email address with an auto responder set up, let the auto responder send the download link to the recipient.

you can also use a tool like wp-ecommerce. It may be overkill, because it's a shopping cart, but it also does digital downloads.

Make the download page only accessible for logged in users, or private.

For a wordpress shopping cart, Cart66 is really nice for simple carts.

Joast has a plugin which you might be able to use http://ten-fingers-and-a-brain.com/wordpress-plugins/comment-email-verify/
