I've never been the biggest fan of traffic analysis, but it's gotta be done, right? I recently checked into Facebook's Insights (http://www.facebook.com/insights) to check on client pages.

There's an overview for each Page with data on traffic, the rate of new users, gender, age and location of users, and details on user behavior on the Page. The program also shows you which comments receive the most interactions and views. The data can be exported in CSV and synced with Excel. Here's an overview for one Page I admin:

You can also hook up your website with Insights -- assuming you have "like" buttons on your site -- and access the same metrics for your site. It's easy to add; Facebook provides a meta tag to add to your home page. See: http://www.facebook.com/help/?faq=15217&tq#!/help/?faq=17627 and http://www.facebook.com/help/?faq=17627&ref_query=insights#!/help/?page=914.

Are you using this? Any insights on Insights?

Some social media experts are recommending Google Analytics plugged into their Facebook Page.

But, no... I have heard of few people using it.

I haven't tried Insights, but I'm interested. Do you think it adds something or just doubles up with Analytics?

BTW: Great Stats on the snapshot of user activity.

I haven't come across a single analytics program which reports information the same way twice. They all have unique merit.

I do watch my Insights. I like to see what my fans are interacting with - and hands down it's photos and videos.

And I do try to look at the Insights versus comments and interactions on my blog/website. Give some useful info about what content people find most useful/worthy of comment.

Cool, Is there anyway to use Google Analytics for the same thing?

It's sad it doesn't work anymore :/
i'm not very happy with facebook's insights and would rather use my google analytics account

is there any new way to get it to work again ?

I didn't know that... Probably not, maybe it was broken with purpose?

I don't really use facebook, but to my understanding, the materials are hosted on site, inside facebook right? I mean you probably can't even put a classic style counter on a facebook page?

My apologies for the outdated info...

It's only on your FB Pages.

And you'd think those stats were great, but when I check the EdgeRank for that Page it was 11 -- just average. :(
