Always wanted to run a quality travel directory but don't know where to start?

You can now operate your own non-English copy of a http://wizz.travel" - ]WiZZ.travel directory and instantly be part of a trusted, well-recognised and established travel directory.
WiZZ.travel is looking for editors who are interested in running a quality tourism and travel directory in their language.

The aim is to create a dedicated travel directory in as many languages as possible, with each different language independently operated.
This should be a benefit to all the editors, increasing traffic and referrals.

Who are we looking for?

People whose first language is not English, but who have a good understanding of English.
You'll need to translate a template of the WiZZ.travel directory.
For an example, visit the http://nl.wizz.travel - Dutch WiZZ.travel directory.
You will operate and maintain your own WiZZ.travel directory, add categories as required, review submissions made to your directory etc.
Work together with other WiZZ.travel editors using a common set of rules and guidelines to create the best travel directory in as many languages as possible.
WiZZ.travel editors will be required to check and amend some submissions. Being a WiZZ.travel editor is more than clicking to approve or reject submissions. We are a quality directory and work to a set of standards.

If this sounds like you, you might wonder what the benefits are for you:

WiZZ.travel editors can request fees for some reviews; paid reviews are charged at the same price by all different language editors. Currently the price is US$ 9.95.
WiZZ.travel editors can place and sell relevant advertising including Google Ads on their directory.
WiZZ provides all the hosting and the software, you provide the initial translation and maintain your directory.
Your WiZZ.travel directory will be at the relevant subdomain: for example the Dutch WiZZ.travel is at nl.wizz.travel etc.

If you're interested:

Contact us to make sure that we are not already busy creating a directory in your language.
An initial fee of US$ 20 is applicable. This will be refunded once your WiZZ.travel directory is online.

Trusted and Widely recognized where? It is a fairly new directory and thus far has not been branded at all that I can see. Don't get me wrong, I like the site, you obviously put some work into it, but the hard sell in a forum not designated seems a bit much. :)

Hi William
The directory is established since 2008 and for those that think PR is worth anything, it has a PR of 3 which is not that bad for a travel directory after 2.5 years.
The Dutch version is only just new, and that is the whole idea.
About the trusted and recognized bit, there are quite a few SEO people who recommend to submit travel sites to WiZZ.to on their blog etc.
I thought this was the directory discussion subforum, so I thought that was fine to post something that might benefit non-English webmasters who might be interested in promoting their site on a travel directory they run themselves.

Hard sell? I am not selling anything, I am giving away a ready made hosted directory to anybody who cares to look after one, and they can keep any review fees and any advertising revenue they care to create.

The main reason to post the offer here, is because I think it could be great fun to work together with people from all over the place to build a multi-lingual travel directory.

Cheers

I quite agree, and you are going about it the same as I would have, and the idea is sound. The hard part for you I fear is going to be finding 'reliable' editors.

The hard part for you I fear is going to be finding 'reliable' editors. We all live in hope :), and trust that there are some people out there that think quality still means something.
It sure is not a "get rich quick scheme" (probable not even a "get rich anytime scheme") but rather a bit of fun and a bit of income.
