I am looking for an Internet marketer with experience in fields of website PPC conversions, Affiliate marketing, and general IM topics. I am starting a business with my soon-to-be Co-owner and we are in desperate need of someone who can share their knowledge with their personal experience in IM endeavors. We are more than willing to pay a flat value or a percentage. We are both very capable young men who are attending college and have a lot of ideas that we think will make a killing. We just are inexperienced and don't necessarily know how to approach this situation. If you are interested and willing please feel free to reply to this post and we can arrange a possible skype connection within the next few weeks.
Sincerely,
David Shelton
PS - We would prefer percentage in combination with a flat rate so we know you are truly committed in assisting us.

*Update* I will be working on two websites. Currently up Fixedgearcentral (other undecided url) and will be making a gaming website. Both will be informative authorities with forums for members to discuss. They will both incorporate videos and facebook to help attract members. Need someone who will be willing to guide us and also submit content to help build the sites.

What would your sites bring to the table to make them stand out from industry leaders like IGN, battlenet, gamespot, etc?? I only ask because I used to managed a site like you are describing with some 8k to 10k uniques a day and we never managed to get it much over $50/day in revenue.. The payout simply isn't there..
I'm not trying to beat you up too much here, but what do "you" bring to the table that a competent web designer and marketer can't do without "you"??
We have this discussion with potential clients all the time and it almost always comes down to they have nothing more than the idea and expect us to provide all the skill to make it happen.. In those scenarios why do we need you?? Especially when the idea is hardly original..

The questioning is completely reasonable. I am most greatful for the reply and will attempt to address your concerns as best I can.

I find this to be a very basic concern. That concern can be precented for almost any and all sites. Very few ideas are original, in my opinion it is not necessarilly true that you must come up with an original idea. It is more of taking general ideas that have already been used and put a twist to them that would attempt to remove the negatives aspects with the fore mentioned sites.
I am not neccesarrily asking for commitment. I am first and foremost looking for someone to comment on my ideas, someone that I can bounce this off of and shed some realistic lights on the seed in my head. If the plan can take a good shake down and come out better because of it I believe it is a worthy idea to consider. If not I have other ideas. If they turn out to be good and in the future it seems like something you or anyone would be interested in becoming more invested in I am open to that.

Don't worry about it. It is a valid and neccessarily thing to ask someone who has no credibility. I believe I have a great perspective to bring to the tabel. Unfortunetly I have no evidence to call me credible but I believe I have a lot of potential and I could show that with a more indepth conversation.

I believe I can make the idea original or at least potentially more appealing to a targeted group of people. What I am looking for is not the grunt work, I plan on outsourcing and personally working with that. The reason I am looking for someone experienced is that realistic perspective. You understand better than me what can or cannot be done or if a better route could be taken. For your unique perspective I would be willing to pay depending on your interest and possible commitment to continuing to provide your view.

pm me if you would like. I've run a couple successful websites but like Mr Steve pointed out the revenues are a bit rough depending on what types of angle you want to take.

I'm glad to see you asking the questions and not getting torqued up about my questions.. You are already 10x further ahead than most people that ask for this type of help..
If you have any specific questions about operational issues etc., feel free to PM me, I'll answer them, if I can, for free ;)
