Sorry for bringing up Access in this forum, but was given a new computer somebody, (don't know who), put security onto the Access 2000 app. I have run into this problem before. I know if I delete a access file it will reset to defaults, reconstruct the file and the logon prompt will go away.
I forgot what file can anyone help?
Thank you Steve.

There is a Koppix Linux version that can erase all passwords on a windows machine it can be downloaded from;
http://sourceforge.net/projects/insert/
and is only about 50 Meg.
It can be run from CD with out instsalling to you hard drive.

Steve,
I'm not sure if you mean an Access db file is encrypted (mde instead of mdb) or if the whole Access application is locked...
One suggestion is to use a password recovery utility--there are quite a few links on DMOZ for this... (http://dmoz.org/Computers/Security/Products_and_Tools/Password_Recovery/)
HTH!
