Well hello again everyone. Today I'm just going to post a little tip I picked up about how to gauge the value of your articles using Facebook's Fan pages.
If you haven't done so already, you can set up your clients blog to cross post to Twitter and Facebook (among other sites). Currently I use RSS Graffiti (http://www.facebook.com/RSS.Graffiti) to pick up blog posts but you don't need to as you can also copy and paste the URL of the blog post right into the status of your client's Facebooks fan page. After about a day you'll start seeing what is in the image below:

Now take a look at the part that says 427 Impressions. That is the part of the post that I am talking about - the part that will enable you to gauge the value of your posts.
In the case above it looks pretty positive. It looks like the description and the title of my post was pretty interesting to users and caused them to 'click-through'. That's the point here - the click-throughs.
Sure you can use analytics software to do this but from a client's point of view, when she or he logs onto their Facebook fan page for their business and see such statistics it looks good on your - if the statistic (impressions in this case) isn't too high you've got a problem Houston and it might be time for you to start sweetening up your post title and description. It's kind of like the search engine search results - write compelling titles and descriptions that will make people click!
That's really all. I just wanted to show you one of the ways you can use Facebook to help you determine how successful your articles are, how popular they're becoming and how you can use the impressions Facebook provides Page managers to see what kind of content your Fans like - and from there you can revise your content for the better!
Happy New Year everyone!
