My hope is that one day there will be an out of the box secure installation of wordpress, Joomla or other CMS, but sadly, the day has not arrived. So we keep looking for ways to make our installation secure. Today an article appeared in 'Tech Times,' listing these ten points:



1. Use strong MySQL database names
2. Set a custom table prefix
3. Lock down wp-config.php
4. Avoid using the default "admin" ID
5. Restrict access to your IP address
6. Remove wordpress references from your theme
7. Update regularly
8. Install good security plugins ...
9. Be careful what you install
10. I've been hacked! What do I do?
