Is there any such thing as a multi browser. Like a browser that holds all the major browser and then within that browser you should be able to toggle between them so that you can check your websites compatibility in all the different browsers.

I hope that wasn't confusing. Anyways I think a tool like that would be awesome and much appreciate by many programmers and designers.

There are two different approaches to this. One is Firefox, which supports addons that allow sites to be opened in tabs and rendered with the IE rendering engine. Another is SuperPreview, which allows you to view a page in IE 7, IE 8, IE 6, Firefox and Safari. SuperPreview is a premium product from Microsoft, part of MS Expression, but it does seem to give the widest range of browsers to test in. There is also BrowserLab, a premium service from Adobe, which allows Dreamweaver users to test sites in a variety of browsers.

I have tested browsershots.
You can check that.
It is a very useful tool for webmaster in developing his website.

In addition to what others have mentioned, there's also a hack for IE where you can right click (the page or link) and "Open in FireFox". I can post that if interested.

There's at least one more extension: OperaView (https://addons.mozilla.org/de/firefox/addon/1190/).

FireFox is a good way to do this for testing. Though I have FireFox, IE and Chrome all loaded on my computer anyway. Tend to use them all for different things.

Wow! Thanks for this information! I now know what a multi-browser is! I used to open Firefox and Chrome at the same time for various testings.

Something I do not believe these tools...
It Safer to me when I test the site in IE or FF...
I uninstall Opera two years ago ...

Why waste your time with multiple browsers to test things? Get smart people...

But it seems one has to have Creative Suite 5 for that, which costs a fortune.

Which link? "Get CS Live", or "Try BrowserLab", or some other? The latter brings you to some registration page.
Thanks.

Try Browser Lab

then when it loads, click the 'Test' link in top nav.

Just register, it is free....

Hmm, I don't see that. After clicking that link (in FF) I get a "Sign up for CS Live" page, no "Test" links. (In IE the page is totally blank!) So I guess you have to sign up. ? Is it a trial of some kind or always free?

I've been using it for about 4-5 months now and not had to pay.

It appears this is a "complimentary subscription", just as they say, because the email I just got from them says "Subscription expiration date: 11-24-2011". So it appears it may be a trial.

This is interesting. I see a problem though, some moron put an http:/// as default in the address bar at the top, which obviously doesn't work. It's pain to try and delete the 3rd / mark. It would be great if links would be clickable, but they are using screenshots that are generated.

Thanks William, a very helpful tool.

The online browser lab thing does seem to have at least a year's free trial - trouble is that without Dreamweaver all you get is a screen shot of the site as first loaded. To see how anything works in rollover states / with javascript in action etc you seem to need Dreamweaver... Still useful to be able to view screens of Mac versions. Thanks.

That's a good point, with screenshots you can't check interactive objects.

I have DW installed (but never used it and don't know anything about it), so how can it help with this tool?
