I haven't been on these boards for quite a while.

I am taking over an AdWords account from an agency and will be managing it in-house. It might help if I gave a bit of background on myself.

I am coming from managing a very successful set of paid search accounts for a huge Fortune 10 company. My role was to develop strategy concerning paid search and organize the many teams and agencies I had at my disposal to execute tactics.

I have recently taken on a new role. This time with a start-up. The difference between the 2 are night and day. I am now basically a one-man show after this month as we will move away from the one agency managing our paid search account.

My issue is that I have not had my hands dirty for about 3-4 years in managing AdWords from the ground-level. I am coming from a total management role and now need to not only manage/lead the strategy I will have to implement as well for the time being. As I grow the program, then that's when I grow the department and bring people in.

My one main issue right now is that the agency we were working with has not been much help. I think that since they know we will be leaving they have taken on the hands-off approach regarding any type of transition assistance.

I am currently working to take my AdWords certification for starters as well.

I am interested to hear any views and or comments about issues transitioning accounts in-house to an agency?

Thanks
